Bleeding after sex

Hello there

I had sex with my new boyfriend 2 days ago . When he tried to penetrate me , I was feeling a lot of pain and after he managed to penetrate , i started bleeding . The bleeding hasn't stopped completely but it has decreased . It is bright red in color . At first I thought it's my period but then I found out it's not . I'm about to have my period in less than one week . it can't be implantation bleeding too . Am I right ? Because I heard that implantation bleeding doesn't occur right after sex . So I am wondering what type of bleeding is this? Could it be because of the painful sex experience ? Or because I'm close to having my period ? Please help
