Abnormal Labia Minora?

I guess this question can be answered myself...I know it is abnormal and plan to go to the gyno...calling to schedule one tomorrow but wondering if anyone out there has any insight.

My labia minora is discolored just one side..its like purplish colored on the end and longer than the other side(labia). Im barely twenty and its been like this for awhile not sure what it is...I can't imagine it being from sex. I've had sex 5times.

I have just been searching what it means to have a longer right sided labia minora than the left side. It is purple at the very top end and just normal pink at bottom, however the left side is perfectly normal pink small and looks  right what is up with the right side is it normal? I am 21 only had sexy few times but I do use toys on my clit ect as I am gay could that be why or is something up its only been like this recently and I have no infections or anything. Just concerned glad im not the only one from the looksof this site.

I'm 16, same problem as most of you ladies. Only both my labia minora and labia majora are a dark purple and I feel like they are longer than most. I started taking better care down there but I'm worried. I dont know what it is, I'm a virgin? No boy has ever seen down there. I'm really self concious about it.  I'm afraid it could be cancerous. whats going on down there?

I've never had sex either, I'm 16, and every once in a blue moon I check down there with a mirror to make sure I'm okay. Anyways, just earlier this week I looked down and notice the lower part of my labia minor is bluish-purple. The top and inner labia lips are still pink. Anyways, what's wrong with me??? And I'm of Hispanic decent if that helps anybody.

yes my labia minora are a deep purple color and im really concerned that it isn't normal. i don't know what to do. and im highly self concious  when it comes to "down there". i'm glad im not the only one!

This is not abnormal but just the way that vaginas look. Everyones is different. The vagina's that you see in mens magazines etc are AIR BRUSHED. They are legally not aloud to show labia minora as it is seen to be crude. However they should show it so that young girls do not get hang up on what thier vagina looks like. A womans vagina is unique to them and there are probably no two that look alike. RANT OVER.

omg im 14 and a virgin and i have the EXACT same problem idk what it is but i noticed it when i first shaved down there. the next day it was stinging and ever since then its been swollen. this was nine months ago though. i told my mom but she didnt know what to do. im soooo glad im not the only one with this problem!

i'm 15 and have obviosly never had sex but i have a couple little brown spots on my labia. Also one of my labia is longer than the other with a little bit of extra bmpy skin. and my other labia is just a regular smooth one that doesn't surpase the lips of my vagina. my mom has never had and STD or anything like that. I don't know what it is help!!

i have abnormal labia the inner lips are longer that the outer and i reasearched it online and they said there are natural ways to correct it  but you have to buy the book. i am 16 and i dont want to go to my mom about it i have never had sex so it cant be from that i just want help. if i could correct naturally it would be amazing

i have noticed recently, that my inner thighs have taken on a tan look which is odd because I am ghostly pale and my legs never see the light of day, and it's only in a small are near my vagina. Also, my inner labia have turned from their normal pink to brown and feel bruised. My outer labia has taken on a more red tone.... I'm scared. I cannot go to the doctor anytime soon because they have a waiting list for annuals...

Oh and also, haven't had sex in two months. Been having sex with one guy who is faithful, since January, and not experienced anything like this before. Also noticed the brown tint spreading from labia to vaginal opening and slightly inside.... I have a darker brown spot on the side of my clitoral hood, which also feels bruised...

I have the same thing also, but I can't go to a doctor because I'm only 16 and have no way of getting there without asking my parents. It's not because of sex though, i know this for sure because I've never had it. I wish that I knew what this was, and if it can be fixed.

I HAVE THE SAME THING. i just googled discolored labia to see if i could find anything about it. I don't feel like it's always been this way though.. just recently I've noticed it's longer and on the edge of it is a purple-ish tender area. I'm glad i'm not the only one but i wish i knew what it was.

I am a nurse and I would like to try and help you with your question.  The first thing that comes to mind is that you might be of African or Asian decent.  If so, then it most surely could be just pigment change in the skin that area, just like you might have a brown spot or mole somewhere else on your body.  Actually Caucasians can have mole's in that area to, but darker skinned individuals can have darker spots.  Anyway, I don't think it has anything at all to do with sex either.  It is also very normal for the labia to be different sizes and lengths on the female.  Some labia can be bumpy kind of like "raw chicken skin", other is smooth and thin.  Every woman is different there.  However, I feel you should seek medical advice, see a Nurse Practitioner or a Doctor just so that they can see the darker spot and make sure that it is not anything serious.  Unfortunately, skin pathologies do occur in this area and in young people.  Although the odds are on your side that you are perfect the way the Lord made you, just get a quick check.  Bless you and take care of you!
