Can drinking Gatorade/Powerade cause urine to smell?

A month ago I had a bug which caused severe diarrhea for many days. I began to drink Powerade and since then I find myself drinking Powerade all the time. This is we're the urine odor comes in. No burning,no urge or frequency just the bad urine odor!

I've never heard of that.  I have a son who is a runner and he restores electrolytes regularly with sports drinks, no urine smell.  Is your urine clear?  not dark yellow?

It's not dark yellow but at times cloudy!

hi, this is a bit late, but to answer your question with my OWN personal experience, I drank powerade due to a low sodium level, and I began to drink it constantly and my urine also smelled and was cloudy. I also got bruises everywhere and lost about 20 pounds within 2 weeks, I think I was dehydrated. Replaced powerade with water, and was back to normal within a week, even the weight came back, sigh, I think it was water anyway!

Hm, you have this too.  Had no idea. Still have not experienced that other than hydration either way can cause urine changes.  Interesting that going back to water helped you.  All making me think!  (ha, sometimes that is painful).  Thanks for telling us your experience.
The urine odor is fishy correct?  This is due to the presence of B1 in Powerade. B vitamins especially B1 have been known to cause this odor in urine when in excess and has to be expelled from the bottom via bladder. Also via sweat glands in some cases.
