Dark Brown discharge while on combination pill

I started taking the pill for the first time on March 8th (5 days into my period) in the last 2 days I am experiencing pink to dark brown discharge. Just wondering is this a common side effect? I am worried that I could be pregnant. I had sex for the first time twice 6 days ago..

Most likely that is hormonal spotting.  If you are taking the pill correctly and started it when you were supposed to (sometimes they time it with a period), then I would not worry.  And some women don't have the right combination of pill for them (too much progesterone can cause brown spotting).  break through bleeding or spotting does happen sometimes o the pill.  If it continues, talk to your doctor about perhaps trying a different one.  If you start to feel anything else 'odd' then take a pregnancy test for peace of mind. good luck
