Discolored patch of skin, painful lump under skin bikini line, h e l p

Hello, I'm a 17 year old female and I'm a virgin. I've had this issue for about a year now and I just want to know what it is. Back in October or November of last year, I noticed there was a lot of pain and discomfort in my inner bikini line area. I couldn't sit down or walk because of the pain. When I looked down there I noticed I had a discolored reddish pink patch of skin and a hard lump about 3 and half inches long and an inch wide growing outward into my inner thigh. The lump was really painful if I put any pressure on it. I ended up taking a water bottle and filled it with hot water and began pressing it against the lump regularly for about a week or so. The lump went down to barely pea sized, but the discolored skin remained. Then in the beginning of the summer this year, the pain was back and when I looked down there this time, there was a raised pocket on top of the discolored skin. I took a needle and made a few holes and squeezed. At first, there was only clear fluid mixed with blood, but then it popped like a pimple and white pus came out. I left it alone after that. But, just a few weeks ago, the pain was back once more, but the discolored skin was now a purpleish black, almost like it was bruised, and it had also been bleeding quite a bit. The lump was back also, but it was much smaller this time, only about an inch and half long and a few centimeters wide. I've started using the water bottle method again and the lump is going back down, but it's still painful and the discolored skin is staying the same. I don't know if it is a severely infected ingrown hair or a boil or what. I'm pretty scared, and I really don't want to have to tell my mom or go to the doctor. If anyone has any ideas as to what is going on, please let me know. I just hope it's nothing bad.
