Financial Assistance with Vaginal Reconstruction

I'm a healthy 46yr old mother of 5 (4 vaginal births and 1 c-section) healthy/happy children.  After my last and final delivery (tubal ligation performed after c-section) I began to realize that I am experiencing ALL the symptoms listed on various websites describing the need for vaginal reconstruction, due to the birth/aging process.  I have began to enter the per-menopausal transition as well.  Mentally at this point I am having self-esteem issues in relation to my feeling as though I am "vaginally de-formed", even though my partner assures me that I am not, he is very kind to try his best to build up my self-esteem.  I do not have medical insurance now, and am wondering if there are any charitable programs available to assist me with the costs associated with this procedure.  Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, KK

Thank you for your professional response.  I am going to seek medical assessment asap.  However, my self-esteem/emotional issues I believe are indeed associated with my physical condition.  Certainly, at my age I would not ever expect to attain pre-child birth status!  However, it seems that the 4th degree tearing during my deliveries have caused over the long haul, extensive "gapping" which nearly reaches the anus.  In the "gapping" area you can visibly see about 2 and a half inches of skin that was at one time stitched but are no longer.  Urinary incontinence has become an issue. It feels as though there is no closure at all in that area.  Until recently I did not shave the area we're speaking of, and I had not been able to truly see what was present.  My female health concerns were primarily focused on the child-bearing process, etc., and I did not pursue these issues until recently.  But, it feels as though when coughing laughing or exerting myself, that something (I don't know what) is bearing down and will drop out of my vagina.  Thank you for your advise.

I would say no.

What you're asking for would be considered "cosmetic" surgery especially in regards to your statement "Mentally at this point I am having self-esteem issues in relation to my feeling as though I am "vaginally de-formed."

Speaking as a nurse and a 48 year old woman, things aren't going to be exactly like they were when you were 18 and especially after child bearing.

Instead of "reading" what's on the websites and "self-diagnosing" (which isn't recommended or prudent) you should try to consult an GYN specialist and let him/her assess the situation.  I am not sure if you are dealing with an "actual" physical issue or if this is physical/mental or purely mental.

Consult a REAL physician and go from there.

There are no "charitable" organizations to help you out.
