First period after IUD insertion

I was on the pill for a total of 5 years to help regulate my periods (I got on when I was 15), but just got the IUD Liletta inserted on 1/5 which was the 3rd day of my period. My doctor told me to finish my next pack of birth control pills and today is the second day of the "sugar pills". Every period before I got the IUD would come on Tuesday and I am not sure how my periods will be now. So I was curious to see how others first periods were like? I'm worried that mine will come late, because I am visiting my long distance boyfriend on Feb. 10th and I do not want to have to worry about my period then. Thank you!!
