GBS in non-pregnant women cure?

Hey everyone, about three months ago I got my paragard IUD out after having it in for six years. That very night I went home and felt symptoms of an oncoming UTI, a really slight burning (not when I pee, just a burning "down there") and the frequent urge to urinate. Well, it never turned into an actual UTI; it was just those faint symptoms, which confused me. I thought maybe they were a weird side effect of Paragard removal and ignored them for a few weeks. Finally, I went to my general doctor and she did a urine sample but it came back with no sign of infection. But the symptoms persisted. They never got worse, just stayed the same: a mild burning and the frequent urge to urinate. There were some days and weeks when the symptoms even went away, but they always seemed to come back. I finally went to my gynecologist. She did a urine sample and said the same thing: my urine looked great. Well, the symptoms went away again (as they had before), and a week later, I got a call from gynecologist saying they actually did find something in my urine: GBS. I had never heard of this before but thought okay, whatever. They put me on Amoxicillin, and the symptoms all returned after I finished the antibiotics. I waited a week, hoping maybe the burning and urge to urinate would go away. Of course they didn't, so I called my gyno again, and now she's put me on cephalexin for seven days. But I'm on day three, and my symptoms haven't even faded, so I'm really worried this antibiotic isn't going to work. I've literally had one UTI in my entire life, and one case of BV in my life, so I don't get infections regularly. I have no idea what's going on with the GBS, and it doesn't seem to be leading to any other infections, but I've been dealing with these mild symptoms for almost four months now and am so sick of the slight burn. It's uncomfortable and I want to go back to feeling normal! Have any other nonpregnant, younger women (i.e., twenties, thirties) dealt with this? I'm at my wit's end and just want this GBS infection to go away!

I've had a strep infection that took three end-on-end runs of antibiotics to be rid of. If one week of cephalexin does not do it, ask for another week before you give up.
