Hernia Reappeared with Extreme Pain

Hello,

I used to have extreme pain in the left lower abdomen area (groin area), which was the result of a hernia. I had surgery in July and that took all the pain away. Unfortunately, about two weeks ago, the same exact pain came back. For the past few days, Ive had extreme sharp pain in the same area. I went to the surgeon who fixed my hernia, and she proclaimed that "there is no way the pain is from the hernia". However, because it took her MONTHS to figure out I had hernia, and for legal reasons, I think she is lying. Can anyone tell me what the possibility of a hernia reoccurring so soon is? Any advice about what I should do?

I reread my reply and am very sorry if my contempt for my situation has coloured my answer as I read it, it obviously does. And that is never my intention it is only to inform you of my experience so you know that nerve damage can come from the surgery.
And to answer your question yes you can get another hernia in the same area, my brother-in-law did but his was 3 years later and very obvious.  He has no idea how he got it he is not really a heavy lifting person all the time, just occasionally.  They went back in and fixed it.  The first one was laparoscopicly fixed the second time he had it fixed open surgery.  Not sure if it was required or his choice. He has never had any pain or any problems.
I hope everything works out and your pain has gone away.  And again I am sorry for the pain and anger I showed in my first post.

I had some pain after hernia surgery. After the post op exam I went home thinking everything was normal.  When my husband and I had intercourse for the first time I thought I was going to die.  Went to urgent care, they sent me to the ER of the hospital where I had the surgery. Met a nurse there that said she has a hernia and has had it for 20 years and won't get it fixed, I asked her where the hell she was before I had my surgery. They ran a bunch of tests couldn't find anything things continued to get worse.
I thought maybe everything just wasn't healed after the surgery but mine had to do with nerve damage.  But my pain was shooting down between my legs now and up into my anus, and has never gone away it has been 8 years now.  Do NOT let this go. Make them follow through. They sent me to so many specialist's saying the nerve pain should go away in a year, 3 years tops, and in one year they will go back in to see what the problem was,  then in a year they said it was to late the tissue had grown into the mesh and would cause to much damage.  It was my fault by not demanding they fix what they did wrong in the first place.
My primary care physician made me an appointment with my surgeon after a year to check on both hernia's, he cancelled it. Saying he wouldn't see me. She said he had to so when I went in he wanted to know why I was there.  I explained what was going on the past year he examined me told me he fixed my hernia's, he did nothing wrong, and to not come back unless I felt like I had a recurring hernia (like I would EVER go back to him) .  The whole time he was being advised about my care saying there was nothing he could do.
I now have another hernia in my stomach that I will not get fixed because of my past experience.
But in my experience doctors (surgeons) have a god complex and never will admit to doing anything wrong.  Why would they when it could cost them their reputation or gosh forbid money if they were negligent.
Sorry you have experienced this I very much hope and pray your situation gets better.
