How do i Postpone my periods.

My periods have just started today and normally lasts till 5 days. I have a huge family function coming up after 3 days. I have to stop the bleeding by then. I have bought Permount-N 5mg tablets and would be taking it from now on thrice a day for the next three days regularly. All I am worried about is whether it would stop the bleeding in the next 72 hours. And what about the side effects ? I am not at all allergic to anything and I also don't have any history of diseases. But still I am really worried. If possible then also suggest some other meds to stop the bleeding anyhow in the next 72 hours. Please please please respond ASAP !!!

Were you able to get to the doctor and start the pill to postpone your bleeding for after the wedding and honeymoon??  Let me know!

Ugh, I don't  think the Primolut-N would do anything to help you at this point.  It actually has abnormal bleeding as a side effect (spotting). So, I think you are stuck.  The time to postpone a period is before it actually happens but once it is going, it's hard to get it to stop.  Can you give your doctor a quick call to see if they have any suggestions?  I've read some home remedies such as taking ibuprofen (normal dose).  Not sure HOW that works but it's on the list of ideas. vitamin C and iron rich food promote clotting.  So, that's supposed to help. And drinking a lot of water helps flush the system a bit faster.

Sorry, that's about the best I've got.  Hopefully your period is like mine and it is more light the last two days. Good luck at your work function.  Let us know how it goes.
