How to properly clean vagina after sex?

So after I have unprotected sex with my boyfriend and he ejaculates inside of me, about two days later I get an awful smell coming from my vagina which eventually goes away but I've read peoples solutions to this and they don't really give much help. I've read to clean really good after sex which only makes sense to an extent because you are only supposed to clean the outer part of your vagina. The smell is obviously coming from within due to semen sitting inside of me for a while. How do I get it out so that it doesn't smell that way, without douching because I am prone to yeast infections???
