I think I hurt myself or my period is being stupid. What should I do!?

So, this is a bit embarrassing for me to talk about, especially since I keep quiet about certain stuff like this. On the 19th of August, I ended up masterbating with my hairbrush in the shower. After I was done, everything was find until about around 6pm when I noticed I was bleeding. It was a heavy flow, and so I treated it as my period, thinking that I started early since I’ve already been having issues with my periods and birth control. The next day tho, I noticed that there was more blood then usual, and like, clumps of tissue whenever I wiped down there and it was also on the pad. And every time I got up to walk around my house, I had pain in my stomach area. The pain was on the left side near my belly button and it hurt to stretch, sit up straight or just move around. Tuesday and Today, it’s the same. Except I didn’t have stomach pains yesterday. But I did noticed that when I went to the bathroom, I was peeing blood. So, I’m a little worried thinking that I may hurt myself. Badly this time. I don’t know if I should go to the doctors to see what’s up (even though I already went on August 14th) or just let my body heal itself naturally and not have any sexual activity for a while? (bummer for my boyfriend. Lol)

What should I do to make sure everything is okay!?

Masturbation is an activity few talk about but in which many partake. Despite being taboo in many parts of the world, history tells us that  masturbation has been around pretty much forever, and it's not going away anytime soon. We know the most obvious side effect of masturbation (it feels good), but few realize that the pastime can have many other side effects, both good and bad. Unfortunately, not all of the possible side effects of masturbation are necessarily good. In some cases, masturbation can serve as a chronic way to avoid intimacy with others, which in the long run can cause anxiety. In addition, masturbation stimulates a reward response in the brain, and just as with any rewarding activity, it is possible to get addicted to the chemistry of an orgasm. Not only is this bad for your mental health, but orgasm addiction can require individuals to need more and more stimulation to get the same results, which can lead to bodily harm. In your case kindly go to the hospital.

noreenwawuda, I don't think anything the original poster said suggests she has orgasm addiction. It's an interesting topic for someone else who might write in that they masturbate 20 times a day and don't go out and have friends, or something, but it seems a little much to mention it as though she has this problem. She seems to have sustained an injury.

In your shoes, I would go to the doctor. Merely abstaining from sex won't help if you tore some tissue or harmed an organ. If it's too embarrassing to tell the doctor you used a hairbrush, say you used a dildo that in retrospect seemed too hard. (Don't know if that would be any less embarrassing, though.) Do tell the doctor that you had a foreign object in your vagina that was hard.
