I think I might be pregnant...

Okay so I kind of have a unique situation and I hope someone can relate.. Here it goes.

I have PCOS (Poly-cystic Ovarian Syndrome) and I was told by my Dr. that there is a 95% chance that I wont be able to become pregnant, so when my partner and I have sex, we don't use birth control or condoms.. BUT I was prescribed birth control for my PCOS a month ago and have been regularly taking it. In the past 2 months we've had sex a few times a week. The past 2 weeks my breasts have been kind of sore, I have been extremely moody, and the past few days I haven't had an appetite at all (which is unusual for me), and I absolutely cannot sleep through the night.

Has anyone experienced these side effects from using birth control, or does it sound like I may need to take a pregnancy test. I'm 20 and my mother passed away a year ago so i don't really have anyone I can talk to about this.. Please help me out ladies!!!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Most women with PCOS don't ovulate and thus cannot become pregnant. So the first treatment option for infertility is usually the administration of drugs to induce ovulation like Clomid. Chances of pregnancy are less but you can test the status of pregnancy.
Most home pregnancy tests that check urine beta-HCG are sensitive to 20-25 mIU/ml of HCG. The test can be positive anywhere from about 2-3 days prior to a missed menses to 4-5 days after, but usually it should be done 7-10 days past your missed period. You can check your pregnancy status by urine for pregnancy test or get your serum HCG levels checked which is more specific test for pregnancy.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Sounds hormonal in nature and can simply be due to your cycle.  I've had my appetite change from month to month at times since being on birth control, sore breasts are normal side effects (and normal, period, for anyone's cycle even if they don't always have sore breasts), moodiness is normal side effect (and normal for cycle), and sleep can be affected by a lot.  None of this explicitly spells out pregnancy.  I highly doubt if you took your pill properly and did not miss any that you would be pregnant.
