I'm having wired periods and I'm on Nexplanon

I have been with Nexplanon implant for about 4 month. 2 out of this month were fine dispute mood swings and migraines, 3rd month got me thinking because I have had my periods for around 20 days, they were light and painless but just way too long. I'm currently on month #4 and it's been terrible, first of all I got about 2 weeks blood free and I'm currently on my 16th day of hell and my periods seem only to get havier...
my periods got a bit hevier but still no where near what I use to have before Nexplanon, but I started having cramps, a pretty bad cramps. Day 14 I wake up from cramping on the middle of the night along with strong nausea and been cramping ever since.
Im not sure what to think anymore ...
I'm 22 and have had stable cycle before getting on Nexplanon. The reasons I got on it is because i couldn't get IUD (dr said that my physiology won't allow is before giving birth) and Nexplanon is what Dr have suggested by similarity to IUD, Nexplanon is low hormone birth control supposedly similar to IUD. I have had extremely havy and painfull periods, painfull to the point I had to go to the emergency room several times, and all this nonsense would lass for at least 12 days so i simply had enough ...

I'm sexually active and my boyfriend and I aren't using protection other then Nexplanon.

Is there is any other reasons to why I'm experiencing all this other then side effects?

PS I'm sorry for all of the spelling and punctuation errors, english isn't my first languede hope you guys can understand <3

Hello.  It sounds like your body adjusting to it.  I would call your prescribing doctor to discuss what you are experiencing.  Sorry this is happening.
