Is hormonal IUD the right fit for someone with "turned" uterus ?

I'm thinking of switching to hormonal IUD (beforehand I was using NuvaRing), but I felt it wasn't effective enough in protecting me from unwanted pregnancy. However my ob/gyn told me my uterus is backwards which sometimes causes painful intercourse (but it doesn't happen that often). So I'm wondering if that would interfer with having an IUD.

Thank you for your answers.

You should look up the type of IUD you are considering (they come in different shapes) and see if there are complaints about it not feeling comfortable in the uterus or anything like that. I think most IUDs by now are not inappropriate for any uterine shape, but if there are complaints or comments about any of them you should be able to find it online. Talk to your doctor, too.
