I don't think a pap smear has anything to do with checking your hormone levels. I would agree with the above poster that seeing your doc is a good idea.
Hi there. Well, brown blood, brown blood clots are old blood. This happens in between cycles and we call it spotting. It can happen due to hormonal dysregulation. Although some women get it when they are actually ovulating which would make sense for the timing you are explaining (middle of a cycle). If you are sexually active, it is wise to get checked for STD's which also unfortunately can cause this type of spotting. That you also have issues with lubrication, that sounds hormonal in nature. Please know you can still have sex, just use artificial lubricant. :>))
