Light Period, Dark Brown, Only in the A.M.

My period is SUPER irregular. I have ovarian cystic disorder where i get cysts on my ovaries, & this is the first time in about 5 or 6 months that I've had my period. I'm use to a super heavy flow, but this time it is so light a regular tampon is to much, I have to use a pantyliner and its no more than about a quarter sized amount but it only hit in the morning. I took a pregnancy test and it was negative.... Basically is this normal?

it's been about 4 days and it's still very light, and I have an appt next week to talk about it.

Well, it does sound abnormal but since you describe your periods as irregular, then maybe it is just odd for you but not a big deal.  Your hormones sound askew.  I'd maybe wait a few days and see if this isn't 'break through bleeding' and a period starts or take another pregnancy test.  And if that is negative, it might be time to set up an appt. with your ob/gyn to discuss what is going on.  good luck
