Long cycles, early ovulation

Most my cycles are around 31 days long, although sometimes they do go as far as 36 days, so I expect to ovulate later than day 14 as well, but it always happens at around day 10-12. My periods are usually 7 days long so it seems I ovulate only a few days after. Is it normal to ovulate early with a longer cycle? I'm not trying to conceive or anything, I'm 18, but it just seems odd and I'd like to know if there's something wrong.

You seem completely healthy! I have 32 days till the next period every single time, and I have no trouble. If you experience any severe pain...maybe during, before, or right after the period, I'd recommend talking to a health specialist. Also a good idea to mark any health related incidents, so you can notice patterns. When you see abnormal patterns, talk to a doctor.

I usually get light spotting and slight pains on either side of my lower abdomen.
