Lump of the lips of my vagina

I'm a 15 year old girl and I have never had sex so I very much doubt it could be a STD! I just found a lump on the Lip of my vagina as if it were swollen! I would usually ask my mom about this sort of thing but she died of cancer 2 year ago, could it be cancer? It's very irritating to walk and I'm really scared! I'm due my period also! Please help!!! What could this be?!?

I'm so sorry Tessy1238 for your loss.
I'm sure this is a scary time for you.

First... Take a deep breath.

It could be an ingrown hair, if you do shave. But since its uncomfortable for you to walk, I would definitely want you to get checked out by a Dr. You don't necessarily have to go to a Gynecologist. You can see your own pediatrician (if you have one). You can always just tell your dad, or whomever you live with, that you need to make an appointment with your Dr very soon to check some thing out. When you call, just let them know what is going on.

If you shave, it could be an ingrown hair. But it never hurts to talk to someone older and go to the doctor if someone can't help you.
