Metronidazole Gel and Alcohol
How soon after using metronidazole vaginal gel (0.75%) for bacterial vaginosis can you consume alcoholic beverages? On the box it says do not drink alcoholic beverages when taking this medicine. I only used it twice, and experienced bad side effects so I do not plan on using it anymore. Today (April 22), was the last time I used it. Will I be able to drink alcohol on Saturday, April 25? Thank you.

Hi there. Welcome. It is recommended to wait at least 48 full hours after taking this before consuming alcohol again. ugh, I'm sorry it didn't work for you. BV is hard to get rid of and most unpleasant. Anything else your doctor will try? make sure to use a condom if you have sex as it can pass to your partner. good luck
