Missed period

I am 36 y/o have four children and have always been regular except when on contraceptive.  My last period was on 2/7/14. I am 51 days out from the beginning of my last period. I ended up in the ER with Kidney stones on 3/4/14 where I was given alot of pain meds, CT Scan and also had and Hcg serum level done which was negative and I have done several home urine test which have been negative as well.  Again I never missed periods even when extremely stressed.  Can any one give me an idea?

Good morning,

Thank you very much for your response.  My hormone levels were checked and came back normal and >2 hcg. Unfortunately my life has always been filled with stress, I have weighed the same for the last 3 years which is not good due to my BMI being 48.  There is no family history of the fore mentioned conditions. I am scheduling an appt with GYN because it is going on 59 days since the beginning of my last period.  Once more thank you very much. I am happy that I am not pregnant and even more so that I will not be one of the cases on lifetime stories pregnant and did not know it.

Have a great day,
SM

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
There are several reasons why a woman have delayed menstruation and this could be due to unhealthy diet, stress (emotional or physical), sudden weight gain or loss, caffeine, alcohol, and smoking. Gynecological conditions like polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), and uterine cysts or polyps, can also bring about alteration in menstrual cycle. However, pregnancy is still the most common cause of delayed or missed period.

So if there is a history of any unprotected intercourse then pregnancy should be ruled out.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
