Nexplanon and Weight

Hi I’ve asked the question before but didn’t get a response. Maybe I made it too long! I’ll shorten it. I am 5’5 and weight around 340. When I got the implant 1.5yrs ago I was smaller. Now that I’m much bigger does it still work? I heard it may be less effective in obese women. I usually have spotting sometimes but recently I spotted for a week and I wasn’t sure if that was normal or not or if it’s a sign the birth control isn’t working. Any help would be appreciated!

It's not known how effective it is in women who are very overweight, as the studies didn't include a lot of them (which is shameful).

Unfortunately, we just don't know.
