Should I Worry That My Period is Late?

I'm 26 years old, otherwise healthy, and usually have quite normal periods. I have skipped a month or so before, but I have now been late for 64 days. My last real period was January 3rd, I then spotted brown blood (old blood?) on January 30th. The only change in my life in the last few months has been weight loss. I've been eating a lot healthier and I've lost about 8-10 pounds over that time. I also run around a lot at work and don't often have a chance to eat a lot, and often am under some stress. I'm just a little worried about how long its been. Over the last couple weeks though I thought I've been having signs of PMS, especially hormonal breakouts on the right side of my jawline and chin, which I usually get a couple weeks before my period. I hadn't had this happen in a couple months. I'm hoping now it will show up within a week, but I'm stressing out a bit now. Should I be worried?

I didn't personally take BC pills to get it going again but know that this is what does help a lot of women.  I was already producing two much estrogen and had issues like melasma (the butterfly pigment thing on my face) so more hormones would have been a bad route for me.  I also had the slow thyroid.  I had a little bit of depression which often goes hand in hand with thyroid issues and DID treat that and while waiting to see an endocrinologist to figure out the plan for my thyroid and hormonal imbalance, it righted itself.  (feel lucky!).  It was taking 7 months to get into that specialist so there was a big gap of time but still, it worked out for me in the end.

But they MAY from what you describe here decide to start the pill for you so that you get back into a regular pattern.  Kind of like a jump start.

Hello!  Ugh, I have been that late before.  You get pms and it lingers until you get your period and boy . . .is that annoying!  I was late because my hormones were out of balance.  I was naturally producing too much estrogen.  I also had a slow thyroid function.  Those things combined let me getting a period every 3 to 4 months.  Doctors like women to have a period every 3 months so I'd probably plan on seeing your doctor if you don't start. They may run some blood work to check your hormone levels.  Weight loss IS a reason to be late so that could be it but as late as you are, check in with your doctor.  It isn't a huge concern like something major is wrong but you are out of sync.  Does that make sense?

Yes, it helps for sure! Did you end up having to take a medication to help it start again? or did it just come after a few months?

Also wanted to mention there is NO way I'm pregnant. As in I'm a virgin.
