Nuva Ring concern

I am using Nuva Ring to treat Endometriosis and for a birth control. My Gyno Doc suggest instead of changing the ring after 3 weeks so I would get my period to put a new one in right after. I did this and as soon as I put a new ring in I ended up still getting my period and have almost had it for two weeks. The first week was light and discharge was brown blackish, the second week seems like a normal period. I am quite concerned and wondering if other women have experienced this. I do plan to make an appointment with my doc, it just takes a while to see him. I will note this is my 3 month into it , the first two months I did have it in for 3 week and then left it out for a week to get my period. When I went into the third month is when I started this.I have been very tired moody drained

I tried Nuva Ring about a year ago. My cycle was due to come on after my appointment, so I waited until my period went off and put in the first ring. Later that day my period was back on. My doctor told me m body was just adjusting and I should be fine. I bled for two and a half weeks (normally) and my stomach felt like the ring was (metaphorically speaking) forcing me to bleed and every time my stomach cramped I had a blood clot. I figured the ring wasn't for me and took it out. The next morning my period was off (finally). I decided I probably just had a bad run, so I put a new ring in after a week and my period came right back on. No more Nuva Ring for me. I hope that's not what's going on with you, too. With birth control the amount and severity of the symptoms reflect how compatible it is with your body and your natural production of hormones. If the side effects your experiencing are too bothersome and are to the point that they are worrying you, you're probably having too much of a certain type of hormone that the Ring is providing but you're body already has enough of..if that makes sense. If it's to help the endometriosis, just deal with it I suppose, but switch to something that's more compatible with your body afterwards.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
You seem to be having the symptoms of metrorrhagia(heavy periods). Various factors causing it are endometriosis, hormone imbalance, endometrial hyperplasia, polyps, use of IUD’s and depo shots, sexually transmitted diseases,PCOS and benign and malignant pathologies of the uterus. In your case, endometriosis may be responsible for such periods. I suggest you to get it re evaluated from your gynecologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
