PLEASE HELP! Tearing, burning & itching Vagina for weeks..

I am 30 years old and when I was about 13 I had my first experience with this issue. This was well before I was sexually active so it was ruled out as an STD then, and I have since had multiple tests for STD's and specifically herpes WHILE my outbreaks occurred. I am clear of everything.

I get terrible, horrible itching, burning and tearing of my vagina. Sometimes this is accompanied with a yeast infection and white discharge, but often it is not.

Right now for the past three weeks I have been dealing with extreme red swelling, tears all over my vagina and a huge rip about 1/4" wide and about 3/4" long at the top of my vagina going down into it. It is absolutely excruciating. Sometimes I can barely walk. I am in unbearable pain all of the time, and every time the bigger rip starts to heal itself, I tear it open again if I bend or squat or do anything strenuous. It is impossible with my job not to be in all sorts of uncomfortable positions (I am a photographer).

I once had a break out so bad that the size of my labia swelled to the size of a small penis and it was unbearable. Again, I have been tested for herpes DURING these times so I know that I am clear of all STD's. The itching and burning is constant and terrible. I have been dealing with this for many years but haven't had an outbreak like this in quite sometime and unlike with other times I am just not able to get rid of it. I have in the past been able to clear it up by using anti-itch creams and Canesten for the yeast, and also eating plenty of yogurt, which is also more of yeast issue. I have not been able to wear underwear for years (even 100% cotton or silk) because it will instantly cause me to get a yeast infection. I have been tested for BV as well and do not have that either. I had a surgery on my cervix a few years ago because my Gyno believed it was a huge part of my problem. Where most woman have a pin sized hole in their cervix for the menstrual flow to pass through mine was about the size of a golf ball and he believed that because of this it made my more susceptible to infection. This did help for the first few months after the surgery but the problems resurfaced shortly after. I also had a large permanent and reoccurring cyst removed from my vagina a few years back as well. I have also had issues with random bleeding after sex and painful chaffed skin, swelling, rancid odor after sex and other anomalies that my gyno had no answer for. I am tested annually for cervical cancer as well and am free and clear of that too.

As you can see, I have had nothing but issues and none of the gynos or Dr.'s I have seen have any answers for me.

I am just in so much pain.. my vagina is cut and torn all over the place and the pain and itching is almost unbelievable ... I can not even describe. The only little bit of relief I have had in the last couple of days is to use a clean washcloth with ice cold water on it and press it into my vagina and keep on reapplying. It does temporarily relieve the pain and itchy and also dries it out a little bit to allow for better healing of the cuts. The pain was unfortunately so bad today that when I applied the washcloth, I almost vomited because of both the pain and relief all at once.

Before you offer any suggestions I want to rule out all of the things I have tried in the last few weeks:

-Anti-fungal jock itch cream
-Canesten cream
-Canesten 3 day tablets
-Monistat 7 day tablets
-Monistat cream
-2 Diflucan pills taken one at a time three days a part
-Egyptian Magic cream - (which was relieving for a short bit)
-Polysporn fast healing cream for the cuts
-Garlic clove peeled and inserted into the vagina
-Pro-biotic all natural yogurt applied directly to the vagina
-Dripped tampon into pro-biotic yogurt and inserted into the vagina
-Bathing in baking soda water
-Vagisil cream
AGAIN, I have been tested for all STD's, BV and cervical cancer during these outbreaks and I am clear from all.

In the past I have also tried these things that did not work:
-Cutting out sugars from my diet
-Candida control pills and diet

Please, please, please I am begging that someone has some sort of answer for me as to what this might be or how I can get this to go away. I am in so much pain that I can barely sleep and night and my tears start to bleed from the irritation. Please help!!!

For your symptoms and repeated cuts on vagina, the possibility of lichen sclerosus should be ruled out. It effects mostly women and causes itching and white discoloration of the genitalia especially vulva and the anus. The white discolored skin may cause fragile skin which may become damaged, inflamed, raw, and prone to painful splitting and cracking. To confirm the diagnosis a small sample (biopsy) of affected skin may be taken under local anaesthetic.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Dear poster,
I had these similar problems for five years with no solution. I live in Ireland and had every test under the sun - came back negative for everything except g-streppococus which my doctor said was totally normal and couldn't be treated. As a last resort I finally tried boric acid capsules which I bought on EBay (Brand is 'Boricap'). They were like a miracle to me. I used them every night and very soon saw improvement. Two years later, I barely have to use them at all now. If you want to talk further in private messages, please let me know as I would love to help anyone overcome this terrible affliction. People who do not suffer from this do not understand how it can ruin your life. Stay strong- this imbalance will not be with you forever
