Period concerns

Good Morning everyone, I am 35yrs old, 5'0, and weigh 160-165. Over the last 14 yrs. I have had numerous undxs sxs. All the doctors can do is give me different I think it can be this or that. Anyhow, over these 14 yrs, my period has gotten shorter and shorter. The last two years it has only lasted two days, heavy both days.

Before my period I have serve fatigue, extra emotional, headache, and trouble emptying bladder (constant urge to pee). Last month and this month. I feel like I need to start 3-4 days before I start. When I finally do I have heavy bleeding one day, and then spotting the following two. A few small clots came out as well. About two years back I went to my doctor again to try to determine where my sxs were coming from and they did a hormone test, the results was I had a bit high estrogen levels. They wanted me to go back for a second test to ensure it was right, but LIFE got the best of me.

Most of you know I have also had trouble losing weight was recently told I could have IBS, and I have been told in the past I might have an autoimmune disorder. Now, that you have the background. Does anyone have some tips on how to handle the severe sxs I get before my time of the month? Could this be my horomones and should I try to get checked again? Any other thoughts on why my period has become so shor?

It sounds like you were on the road to getting some answers with the estrogen level re-check.  This wouldn't be the time to go in for non-essential medical care,  but in the coming months do you still have the chance to do the follow-up re-check of your hormone levels?

It sounds like you're trying to find a single cause for a wide range of different symptoms,  when you may have several root conditions causing your difficulties.

Best wishes.  Sounds like you've been dealing with unpleasant symptoms for a very long time - hoping you are able to get some answers and relief.

Thanks for the response. When i first started having sxs it was the fatigue, my arms and legs would go to sleep, severe dizzy spells, and the last thing that happened that scared my husband and made me seek help was one day I opened my eyes but couldnt move for about 10mins.

At that time I was looking for one answer. Now though i really am just trying to get to the bottom of everything. The sxs i listed above are the ones that surround my cycle.

I do things to try to ease my sxs. But no dxs means little treatment choices. I am still able to get rechecked for the horomone issue and guess i will pursue that. I had tried about 1yr back and was told by the new doctor i got assigned from what she saw the test showed estrogen was fine and declined to do horomone testing. She instead checked for food intolerance. I had alot. But even changing my diet has not eased up my cycle issues.

Just was hoping to find some ideas and maybe ways to handle the sxs.
