I agree that this is something you DO need to talk to your doctor about.  Overall, it could be coincidence.  however, there is something regarding female hormones and issues with ligaments.  BUT, it's not just when you menstruate that these hormones affect you as you are suggesting.  I would take your theory to your doctor and discuss there.  good luck

It does seem rather strange that you only get these injuries whilst on your monthly cycles.

Are you eating and drinking enough and sleeping well?

When you are swimming you are burning up energy.  If you have not eaten slow release foods the hour before swimming, your sugar levels may be going to low and with this your concentration.  Lack of fluids in the body can also cause lack of concentration.

I would suggest that whilst you are on your monthly cycle, you avoid any physical activity and swimming, until you get checked out by your doctor.

If you are getting a shoulder and knee problem, ask your swimming tutor to see if you are making any a wrong swimming movements.
Make sure that you always warm up your muscles before getting into the water - these are specific exercises so that you do not damage any muscles or ligaments.

Book an appointment to see your doctor to get a blood test done to check your iron levels and also a glucose test to see if you have a glucose intolerance, pre diabetes or diabetes.

Let us know how you get on.

I mean real injuries. Most of the time it is shoulder related. Once I also am very vulnerable when my period comes because once I was swimming with my period and I tore my MCL or breastroker's knee. I really don't know why I am so prone to injuries when I am on my period.

Yes, I'm not sure I fully understand what you mean by injury.  One of my kids is a competitive swimmer--  injuries in swimming are often shoulder related??  Anyway, more details would help as Jemma says.

What sort of an injury do you get?

Do you mean tummy and back pain and sore breasts and nipples?
