Permanently numb clitoris?

Hello! I am 22 years old. I masturbate manually quite often, and have for the past six years. Two weeks ago, I masturbated so hard my clitoris went numb. I held off for five days and it was still numb. I held off until today and it was still numb. I also went off birth control to help my hormones improve. Did I permanently numb my clitoris? I thought it would be better by now. Can anyone permanently numb their clitoris? Thank you!

Hey,

So this is really random and I hope you don’t mind me messaging you. But I was looking for some medical advice online and came across your post / thread from 2017 regarding masturbation and desensitised private area. I completely related and currently  experiencing the exact same thing, I guess I wanted to know if this changed for you after a few weeks and everything returned back to normal?

I’m sorry for the message I’m just seeking advice from someone who seems to have experienced the same problem as me, if you could inbox me directly with a reply,
Thanks!!!

Hi there.  I've read about this. It is typically temporary!  I would just lay off the masturbation for a bit and you will probably go back to normal.  I would NOT be worried!
Thanks for your reply,
I’ve never experienced it before so I hope it goes back to normal after a little while. Surely it’s not possible to cause nerve damage even after excessive masturbation???
No, I'm sure you'll go back to normal.  You may have injured yourself a little.  But with a little time off, you should fully recover feeling.
I read online by a doctor that wrote “ The clitoris is a very delicate organ and can get severely damaged. The nerve endings may get cut off as well. If the nerves are cut, the pleasure sensations go away forever and it then is impossible to achieve a physiological orgasm.”

Can this happen if too much pressure is applied or you have orgasmed too much in one day to the point it’s so overdone?
It’s been 5 days since I last tried to achieve an orgasm and I can feel when I go to the toilet that it’s still numb. Trying not to worry and just hoping it’s no permanent damage but it’s hard when you can’t speak to anyone which has experienced the same problem before ☹️

Hi,
Stop masturbating for a few weeks to allow the subsurface nerve endings to heal. You can cause nerve damage from over stimulation to your clitoris; scar tissue can also build up from excessive use of vibrators and toys if you don't give masturbation a break from time to time. Whenever you feel like your clitoris is becoming desensitized, or you feel any pain, you should stop masturbating for a few weeks. Take it easy

I have not heard of masturbation to the point of a permanently numb clitoris.  I'm wondering how that would have gotten to that point as it couldn't have felt good anymore with the force it would take to make it numb.  But that's for you to judge.  Give it time, it should heal but you might want to be a bit gentler.  Doesn't sound like a good time to be honest.  good luck
