Pink spotting with negative test

Hello,
This month I have been having light pink spotting for about five days now. It's not very much at all, only noticed when wiping. Last month I didn't have a period at all. And the month before that I had pink spotting followed by my period for only three days. My period usually lasts three days, stops for one, and them have it for two more. My period isn't that irregular and can expect it every month. The pink spotting started happening about three months ago. I stopped taking bc in October. I do have regular unprotected sex using the pull out method (yeah I know it's not the best method) and no I'm not trying to conceive.
I took a pregnancy test now that it's been 56 days since my last cycle but it came back negative.
Any thoughts or ideas? Anyone have similar issues?

I started my period after the five days of spotting. I still don't understand why it's being random or skipping a month. Thanks for the information anyways.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
There are several reasons why a woman have delayed menstruation and this could be due to unhealthy diet, stress (emotional or physical), sudden weight gain or loss, caffeine, alcohol, and smoking. Gynecological conditions like polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), and uterine cysts or polyps, can also bring about alteration in menstrual cycle. However, pregnancy is still the most common cause of delayed or missed period.

So if there is a history of any unprotected intercourse then pregnancy should be ruled out.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
