Please help me.

I have been with the same boyfriend for 3 years now, and up untill recently (prolly about 6 months) we have had a normal sex life. Now, I have horrible vaginal odor, almost every day. It started out being an occasional thing, maybe more often the week before my period. However now the odor is there every day. I am extremely embarrassed and no longer want to have sex because the smell is over powering, and not only the smell there is burning and itching especially after sex. I have gone to the gyno, and they thought it was a bacterial infection, and all the tests came back negative for bacterial over growth. So then they switched my birth control pill from tri sprintec to lolo estrigen, thinking it may be something with my hormone levels. The new pill controled the smell for alittle while, prolly for the first month on it or so, but the smell burning itching pain during intercourse all came back. I am now on my 3rd month of lolo estrigen, and my gyno has basically given up on me, saying that my boyfriends body chemistry and mine dont work together, and that we should try only having sex with condoms... meanwhile I have been dating him for 3 years and this problem only starting 6 or 7 months ago

Please help me, I am so frustrated and I just want everything to go back to normal again

Hi there.  Welcome.  Well, that is frustrating regarding the doctor.  You could start over with a new doctor for a second opinion.  I really do agree that you could have something bacterial going on that somehow the test didn't pick up.  I'd want another swab.  there is bv and trichimonosis which both have a smell associated with them.

Okay, weird question, any chance you've ever left a tampon inside?  Sounds strange but women have done this have a horrendous odor, discharge and other symptoms.

anyway, I'm assuming you haven't done that as the doctor would have figured this out.  But just thought I'd throw it out there.

I'd really go back to your doctor.  Squeaky wheel gets the grease so to speak and don't LET him give up on you.  This is your sex life.  And a three

Hey, I'm wondering if it wouldn't be a good idea to have sex a couple of times with a condom just to see if the smell goes away/happens?  Might be worth testing that out.

good luck
