Your regular physician should be fine.  I just called the advice nurse at Kaiser (my healthcare provider), and she asked me questions and prescribed me an antibiotic to pick up, so I don't see why you'd have to go to anyone more specialized than your regular physician.

And UTIs go away with treatment.  All it is is a build-up of bacteria in the urethra that can lead to a bladder infection and eventually a kidney infection if left untreated, which is why it's best if you go in sooner rather than wait and see with UTIs.  The antibiotics will kill the bacteria, and you'll be good as new.  Be sure to finish all the antibiotics you are given even when you're feeling better; otherwise, you risk creating an antibiotic resistant strain.  They give you only the amount of pills you need for the course, so so long as you finish all of them as instructed, you'll be fine.

Be sure you pee before and after, and it's less likely.  Also, clean yourself afterward.  Those are the best tips to avoid another one.  It's always possible to get one, but if you practice good hygiene by getting rid of any bacteria in there beforehand and after (which peeing will take care of in its own way), you're less likely.  Just be sure to wipe and clean up entirely.

It's quite possible you have a UTI if this is occurring after you pee, especially if you frequently are needing to use the bathroom for that reason.  Please talk to your dad about a doctor's appointment as you will need antibiotics if it is a UTI.  Your dad will be none the wiser.  Why?  UTIs are common in women even if they are not sexually active (wiping the wrong way can even cause them).  It just so happens that when we are sexually active we need to be sure to clean up afterward as sexual intercourse can shove bacteria up the urethra, and ours is very short compared to a male's.
