My doctor did prescribe progesterone cream as a birth control. Usually done when a woman (especially those preferring more natural options) is producing higher levels of estrogen. Symptoms may include heavy bleeding during menses, headaches, fatigue, weight gain, depression, PMS, and other symptoms more common in premenopausal. Start counting day one is when you start bleeding, on day 12 (or so depending on length of cycle) start taking the cream applying to a fatty thin skin area such as inner arm or breasts, stop just before due to menstruate again such as day 26.

It's possible to prevent ovulation with progesterone cream. It would probably be very difficult to regulate, however, since you wouldn't know if you were using enough or too much. I suppose you would also need to chart BBT to make sure you aren't ovulating. You could do some searches on the net for Dr. John Lee and Happy PMS Cream. Maybe there are recommended routines and amounts of cream that work as BC.
