Really scared! Please Help!

Hi there, I'm 19 years old still a virgin so I haven't ever thought of getting a pap smear done! Yet, lately I've been wondering if my vaginal area is normal! It can be very sensitive at times. Sometimes it gets really itchy! It used to be alot worse. But I just kind of ignored it and the itching went away. And now it's only itchy every now and then. I also think it might be a little red. My left libia is somewhat larger (larger then the other side). And sometimes I get pains (simallar to minstral cramps but I get them even when I'm not on my period!) I've ignored my problems for quite sometime now. I don't have a mom, and don't feel comfortable asking my dad about this stuff!

Lately I've been losing a lot of sleep worrying it might be serious -- cancer perhaps :(

If you have any advice or know what I should do, please I would really appreciate the help! I don't usually do these chat forums, but I'm rather desperate!

Thank you so much

It sounds as if you may have had a yeast infection- they are very common and treatable.
Although since I am not a doctor, I of course dont know for sure, but they can be treated over the counter if that is what the doctor diagnoses.  It can originate from stress, sugary foods, hormones, etc.

if you dont have a doctor, see Family planning or planned parenthood - they are low cost women's health clinics that are great - especially if you're alone (as you say you dont have a mom to go with you) and the ladies are normally pretty helpful and sincere with sexual health.
