Spotting at 6 weeks!

I was rushed to the ER on the 19th due to a dark brown spotting problem. They checked my cervix and did an ultrasound. Everything came back normal. They checked my hormon level and that also went up from the last time I was at the doctors. My cervix was closed and the baby was health, alive and postioned right were it should be. But the spotting is still here. They told me they are unsure why i am spotting but because its a brown color its old blood and to just take it easy. The spotting stopped and just started back up today. Still brown and very light. Its not enough to need a pad or anything but I see it when I wipe. Has  a lot of women experience this and still have a healthy baby?
