Swollen lips during period

I'm 22 years old and I've started taking the pill (Juliet-ED: ethinylestradiol and cyproterone acetate) about a year ago for my skin problems. I'm not sure if my problem is related to the pill, but about 6 months after taking the pill I noticed that every time I take the placebo tablets (ie. when I get my period, according to the pill schedule), my mouth will become slightly swollen over the first few days of my period, n gradually getting itchy, increasing in swelling and tenderness which is not relieved by antihistamines, hydrocortisone creams, etc.

After that, the swelling will reduce and my lips will start to peel n become a bit painful, sort of like when you scrape your skin. This entire process happens over 1-2 weeks, and it's really annoying because I have not been able to do anything to stop it.

It happens every month like clockwork, whenever I get my period.

The ONLY time that it did not happen was when I donated blood during my period, and I was surprised to notice that my lips did not have such changes at all.

I want to know if this condition is somewhat related to the fluid retention possibly caused by the pill that I am taking, which leads to the swelling and then peeling of the lips. Does anyone else experience anything similar? I wonder if I should stop taking the pill so that I will stop getting this problem, but I'm only afraid that my skin problems will return.

If anyone can offer some advice, I would appreciate it greatly.

Thanks.

I've been having the same problem for about 2-3 months now but I'm not on pills.. I was also not able to find a solution.
So in your case it might not be the pill.
