There's a 1cm hard dark lump in my pubes and I don't know why it's there

I just noticed a hard lump in my pubes that looks like a scab, but I have not had a cut in that area and it's kind of difficult to scratch off. Any idea what this could be?

This is actually a pretty good article on the subject. It might be a sebaceous cyst, but there are several different things it could be.
