Thrush that won't go away

I started having really agonising  symptoms of thrush in the vulva area several weeks ago. I couldn't sleep for the painful itching. I started applying Canesten cream (clotrimazole) twice daily. At first there was a noticeable improvement but after several days it plateaued out and it's not improving anymore. I used an oral tablet of fluconazole which did absolutely nothing.
My diet: Very high fibre, mostly vegetarian. I don't eat sweet food like desserts, muffins, chocolate, ice-cream (except for special occasions) but I do drink Vitamin Water which is 5% sugar.
Right now I feel sore and dead down there. Before this thrush came along, I wanted to have sex with my boyfriend all the time which enhanced our relationship. Now, I never want to and we haven't had sex for two weeks. I don't call him up as often and he thinks I'm not into him anymore even though I love him very much.
This is starting to ruin my life. What should I do about this problem?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
For candidiasis or yeast infection, Take some precautionary measures like avoid wearing tight fitting clothing like jeans and pantyhose and underwear made from synthetic fibresRemove wet or damp bathing suits immediately after swimming, avoid douching, perfumed soaps, bubble baths and toiletries, change underwear daily, wash underwear in hot water (to destroy fungi) and double rinse (to remove any irritating detergent) and take adequate nutrition and sleep. Also use some antifungal pessaries like clotrimazole (Femizole-7), miconazole (Monistat-Derm, Monistat Vaginal) or nystatin which are available over the counter. If still the symptoms persist then oral antifungals may be needed.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

I tried miconazole and it has done the job, even though clotrimazole and fluconazole didn't work. Thank you very much.
