Unfortunately, some of us are just more susceptible to getting recurrent yeast/thrush infections then others. Definitely see a doctor for meds to help clear it up, and also make sure that you are avoiding using heavily perfumed soaps (that includes laundry soaps & dryer sheets) and avoid excess sugary foods, et al. (Sugar feeds thrush!)Hope you feel better soon.
Hey :) I've had thrush before and it's so annoying, right?!
I've heard that a great way to soothe it is to dip/cover a tampon in yogurt and put it inside you like normal. It sounds icky but it'll soothe the redness/itch. Like loriae1 said, don't wash yourself with soap. Just use warm water to clean yourself down there. Your vagina cleans itself naturally so let it do the work! Apart from that, i'm sure your doctor can give you something to help clear it up and to stop it coming back.
I have had thrush 3-4 times...the last time I used a remedy that was suggested to me by an elderly woman where I used to work. She told me to take a shot of apple cider vinegar 2-3 times a day & it worked. I believe it took less than a week but it is gone.
Thank you all for your replies! Does my description sound like normal Thrush to you? I'm worried I have something like Herpes :( Obviously only a doc can tell me if I have that or not but I'm panicking.
Queen_Kelly I'm definitely going to try the cider vinegar shot and see if that helps! Thank you.
I agree with Loriae1 & do think some of us just have more yeast than others...isn't that nice...I had a friend that took diflucan (I believe) 2 pills a week forever to help control hers but if you can get rid of it without meds it may be better?? I'm not against meds at all though. The cider vinegar tastes icky but I hope it helps.
