Vagina smell !

I had sex for the first time. I am 17. My boyfriend was not a virgin and I trust him. We had unprotected sex and I regret it. Hours after my stomach started hurting really bad. The next day my side started hurting as well. I took something for it and it went away. When I was at cheerleading practice I notice a fishy smell on me, my period is not on and I don't understand why I have that smell. Is it common to get a smell after your first time ? Am I ok? Do I need to go to the doctor? If it is common, what should I do to get rid of it ?
