Vaginal Discharge

Hi,
I have been experiencing abnormal vaginal discharge for about 5 months now. The first time I went to the doctor, I was told it was a yeast infection. After a while it didn't go away and it transformed. The doctor told me the next time that I had bv and I took a bunch of antibiotics. Nothing has helped. I still have abnormal discharge, but every test I've had, has come back negative. All std's and bacteria checks. The discharge is thin and clear and does not leave marks in my undies. I'm not sure what to do anymore. I would really appreciate some advice.

It sounds fairly normal to me. Is there any odor to it? Have you changed laundry detergents recently. Are you experiencing any itching? If none of these is present, then I would venture to say it is just your body being normal. Try not to worry too much, that can sometimes cause unusual amounts of discharge as well.

If there is no bacterial or fungal infection and you are still producing a discharge that is clear and thin, then this is your body lubricating itself and this is normal.

As your discharge is not leaving any marks on your undies, and all the tests have come back negative, I would not worry about it.

It may be that your sexual awareness has been heightened to arouse your body to produce these secretions.

I would suggest you look into a very comprehensive anti-yeast protocol.
A "bunch of antibiotics" is enough to cause a higher yeast/fungal imbalance and another thing to keep in mind is that most people have a certain amount of yeast in their body.
Nonetheless, a subclinical level of yeast overgrowth will likely not be considered by your doctors, yet it might be high enough for YOU to have symptoms!
Labs work with statistical models and often people are in limbo because of this, because doctors nowadays treat people mainly according to their lab findings.
You don't need a doctor to do this on your own.
Just look it up. You can also do a "saliva test for candida", which is more for a generalized systemic yeast infection.
If you need any help with this, let me know, but most of the information is available online. I find coconut oil is one of the best anti-fungals, even
better that most drugs, as it targets a broader spectrum of candida strains.

Cheers,
Niko

Thanks for your reply. I'm really not sure. I have had multiple cultures done and pap's and since the yeast infection and the bv, it has come back totally normal but I'm still having discharge. I keep calling my doctor and telling them that there is something that is not right, and they keep telling me all the tests were negative. They keep telling me to just take a probiotic and it will go away on its own.

Antibiotics for a yeast infection are contra-indicated as they are one of the CAUSES of yeast overgrowth and candida.
How did your doctor know the 2nd time that the yeast infection was transformed to  bacterial vaginosis? Not sure about this.
I know that BV even if treated with antibiotics can recur.
Lab tests on a sample of vaginal fluid can determine if BV is present or not.

You may still have an untreated yeast infection. A "wet mount" test would
indicate if and what type of vaginal infection you have.

I'm puzzled how your condition has not been resolved after 5 months.
It's supposedly a simple and common condition to dx and treat.

Best wishes,
Niko
