Try getting dewormed. I had this as a child and my problems went away after a short anti worm course.
I too have had fissures and vaginal tearing. My doctor did a biopsy and I was diagnosed with Lichen Sclerosus so you may want to get a second opinion since your first test came back negative.
I have small vaginal tears, but not nearly to the awful extent as some of the other women on this forum. Mine itch sometimes, but not often. If they are open a lot, then it stings when I pee. The few times I had sex since this started, it was uncomfortable, but not agonizing. Lately, I have a really hard time riding my bike, and I've never had this before. the tears are getting worse, and I'm afraid I'll end up with the same terrible symptoms as some of the other women on this forum.
I noticed the first fissure over a year ago. I was itchy between my inner labia, so I took a look with a mirror. I had a small crack between my clitoris and my urethra. I was worried i had an STI, so I went to the doc ASAP.
I had no STIs, so my doctor gave me aggressive treatment for yeast - diflucan every 3 days, plus a double dose of nystatin cream every day for a week, then diflucan for maintenance as needed - but the crack would close temporarily, and return larger than before. My doc also gave me topical antfungal cream, which burned unbearably and I had to stop using it. After that, he referred me to a gyno.
The gyno noticed that in addition to the central split, another crack formed parallel and to the right of the split. He gave me clobetasol to help it heal. It helped it close up, so I stopped using it, and it opened again within a two or three days. I was worried that long term use of this cream would thin my skin and make the problem worse.
I went to the gyno again, and saw a new one as the first gyno was away. He couldn't see any problem at all. He told me anatomically, it's fine, but that I looked dry. He recommended that I use Replens twice a day. He said he'd perform a biopsy if I still had problems in a month. I was so confused when he said he couldn't see any problem. I told him the skin inside my labia used to be smooth, with no fissures or lines of any kind, and he still said he couldn't see anything like that. I felt like a crazy hypochondriac or something, but my doctor, and his nurse assistant, and the other gyno saw fissures, so unless they are the same kind of crazy as I am, then I know something is wrong.
Now, the split reaches all the way from my urethra to the base of my clit, and I'm afraid of what will happen if the split extends farther up or down, or goes deeper. I wish someone would figure this out, because I've seen the fissure grow deeper, and longer, and I don't want to end up like some of the poor women on this forum who bleed and can't have sex anymore. The fissure is so close to my clit and I'm afraid I'll lose sensation there if the split extends.
This is gross but, the Replens makes me have thick chunky discharge that is almost like cotton. The Replens package said that a white discharge meant that dead cells were clumping and being released, but it hasn't slowed down in almost two weeks. I would stop the Replens, but maybe getting rid of those dead cells will help me.
These symptoms are preventing me from pursuing a relationship with a man because frankly the discharge is disgusting, and I'm afraid that sex will hurt. I feel no sexual desire at all, because I feel like my lady parts are a problem instead of a pleasure. I hate not knowing what caused this, why it keeps getting worse, if my mild symptoms will become awful ones over time, and how to help myself heal.
I am on nuva ring, and have been experiencing this for about 6 months. It is very sad because I am in a new relationship and it is effecting me greatly. I have an appointment on Friday because it is becoming unbarable. I do believe that the cheap toilet paper that my roommate uses might cause it to worsen. I cannot believe I stumbled upon all of this, because it sounds just like mine. I cannot see if it is like a papercut, but it sure feels like one. What I do see is redness and dryness and small lacerations - not herpes - hopefully. They are on the lower part of my vagina, towards my anus. It feels like I got too close with shaving, but that never is the case. Scratching it makes it worse, and I believed that was the cause of the cuts before reading all of this. It will wake me up in the middle of the night itching. I use monostat chaffing cream, and that helps minimally, but deters me from scratching. I am making notes to bring to my new obgyn, so I hope she does not think I am crazy and ignore this problem, because I know it is not normal. I have been very sexually active in the past and always had annual check ups, and thankfully have been clean, with sporatic paps that came back abnormal, but always ended up coming back Okay when colcoscopy. Any creams, even the chaffing cream, burns it so bad. urination is painful, and wet wipes only help a little. One thing I did want to ask was if 1-people noticed correlation with the nuva ring? I have been on it for about a year and I am just noticing it the past 6 months, and 2- I take a lot of baths so I thought that might also be a cause. I have an extremely stressful career so that is also a thought :( ahhhh - my poor boyfriend is a saint.
I Have many of the same symptoms. It all started right after the delivery of my second child. It has currently been 7 months of hell. The pain, burning, itching, irritation can be unbearable. I have currently been seen by 2 Gynos, 2 family Dr's, 2 Deramotologist, ER dr and a plastic surgeon, with little answers than I had to begin with. In Feb, I had a biopsy which came back with no real answers. I was extremely disappointed b/c the pain was so severe. I was on bedrest for a week following my biopsy and it is still not completely healed. I feel glad to know I am not the only person experiencing this terrible problem. I am also very sad to know that so many other people have to go through this. I have been prescribed several different medications throughout. Steroid creams, Vagicaine, Silvadene cream, Antibiotics, Solumedrol, Diflucan, Zantac, Benadryl, Pain pills, and Prednisone. The only thing that seems to clear up the problem is Prednisone. Everytime I have taken this it clears the problem up within days and reoccurs after about a week form the last dose. The most current meds I am on are Prednisone again and Clarithromycin 500mg 2 x a day (first time for 21 days and this time for 30 days). First time around it seemed as though the Prednisone cleared the infection and the abx seemed to keep all at bay. When I finished all the meds though the infection has came back. So here we go again hoping for another positive outcome. Hoping for some relief again b/c it does not come often. Thank you everyone for listening, please contact me with any questions and reccomendations. I am so curious what all this could be. I am getting pretty discouraged be told that I am being considered a medical mystery. There ae many things I would like to be called but that is not one of them. :-)
I think my symptoms are indentical to yours. pain during sex, but not every time - so when it doesn't hurt I think I'm cured so do it more! Then it comes back again. I get constipated a lot and after I do manage to pass a stool I noticed a hard lump between my vagina and anus, have tried looking this up and anal fissures seem to be the most likely diagnosis. I have been back and forth to the doctor, at first she said use mroe lubricant or more foreplay but the friction of too much foreplay gives me thrush (or something similar) and ubricant also gives me thrush! I can't win! She has recently started taking it a bit more seriously and has tested my hormone levels, sent me for internal scans but the only thing that has come back is that my testosterone levels are slightly higher than normal. Reading this forum is the first time I have linked the anal fissures with the vaginal problems so havent yet mentioned the problem passing stools to my doctor yet - hopefully this will help her find an effective course of treatment
Has your condition improved at all since this post? Good to know I'm not alone - I feel so unsexy and don't want my boyfriend to be put off! We've been together 6 years and never had problems until abou a year ago.
