Weird Period with clots, can anyone give any ideas?

Let me start by saying I am a 25 year old female, with 3 children all of which were delivered by c section.  I am of healthy weight and exercise enough.  Not pregnant, no std's

So this has been going on for the last 5 months and it does the exact same thing every month.

It will start by heavily bleeding, and some pretty intense cramping (which i have never dealt with in my life until recently)  That will go on for 2 days, then my period will like STOP!  but then I spot a little for 1-2 days no cramping, but the whole time I have blood clots, they are not big at all about the size of a "nerd candy" there were a few that were somewhat bigger.  When my son sat on my stomach earlier and I went to the bathroom and I had quite a bit more than usual.

Can anyone tell me what this could possibly be?   I know I will need to see a doctor most likely. I live 45 miles from the closest one so I will have to get on over there.

Thanks for looking

During your period, your uterus is quite literally shedding itself. The "clots" you're seeing could just be clumps of uterine lining. I see that quite often, and it is a normal occurrence. I wouldn't be too concerned unless you experience abnormal amounts of menstrual bleeding or pain. Hope that helps!

Could be caused by uterine fibroids.
