What is this weird stringy piece of flesh coming from my vagina?

Here are some pictures: https://www.flickr.com/photos/141481870@N08/shares/QQY8E2
I am currently 18 but first noticed this about 4 years ago. I am a virgin. It is attached to the inside of my vagina and the vaginal opening is in the same place as the stringy bit in the picture. It doesn’t seem to have any sensation as I can’t feel when I pinch it or pull on it. There seem to be some other bits of addition flesh around my vagina also but I don’t know if this is normal or not. It is making me too self conscious to have sex and I’m also too embarrassed to go to a doctor. Is this part of the hymen or a skin tag or something else? And can I get it removed?

You have to get over being embarrassed to see a doctor for things like this.  We as women have to get things checked out. Wait until you have a baby . . . very humbling and you will face your modesty issues head on!  :))  Doctors see everything and it is no big deal to them.  they'd rather you ask than sit and worry at home about it.  At 18, you should be getting an annual pap smear. That is a check of your cervix. Do you go or a physical every year?  this is another good time to just ask about it.  Doctors see everything under the sun and nothing is shocking or strange to them. So, don't be embarrassed. good luck
