Why did I randomly get brown discharge?

I have been with my fiance for over a year, both loyal and have been tested for STDS together. Today, I randomly got some brown discharge. I don't know if it's my period, since I'm on the Mirena IUD my periods are always off. I took a pregnancy test and it said negative. My worries are Bacterial Vaginosis and Yeast. Any input on this?

Brown discharge that doesn't smell unusually bad or isn't associated with unbearable itching is not likely to be anything to worry about.  It happens to a lot of women toward the end of their menstrual period.  Brown blood tends to be older blood that has been in the body longer (as opposed to bright red blood).  Toward the end of a period, when the flow has slowed significantly, a woman often sees brown blood.

You might be experiencing a very light, low-flow period.  It is almost certainly nothing to worry about, but if it continues or is associated with pain or severe itching, it's time to see a doc.

Thank you so much for your reply. I've noticed that having an IUD really throws everything off. I haven't seen anything unusual today, nor do itch. So I'm going to assume that was just a tiny part of my period which makes sense because I've been so emotional.
