Yeast infection in vagina

I'm virgin and 28 yrs old. Before 7 to 10 days of my period I've itching and soreness in my vagina.  Very less white discharge also there. When I try to see my hymen it is full of white in color. It's very paining to open my vagina. Is it normal?  Is there any home remedy for this?

Hi.  Try not to look at your hymen.  :>)  Not really necessary and likely not what you are even seeing.  It does sound like a yeast infection.  They sell over the counter medication for this --  little eggs that you follow directions and place in the vagina at night when you go to bed and this releases the medicine.  Takes a few days.  But since you've never been diagnosed with a yeast infection, doctors recommend seeing them for diagnosis (they swab it) the first time and treatment.  They make a pill you take for it too.  Anyone can get yeast, all women get it at some point.  The PH of your vagina was such that yeast could grow.  Wear cotton undies only, air out at night, eat probiotic yogurt or take a probiotic tablet, cut down on sugar.  These things help.  Don't douche.  good luck
