Yeast infection or what

I have a white vaginal discharge, my vagina is little bit swollen and has a dark color; i rarely get the itching feeling and when i get it, i get it after my period.
I have this condition for years now but i'm too shy to go see a doctor.
I googled the solution and i found that this means a yeast infection and the treatment is diflucan 150 so i took it once, the discharge disappeared for 2 days and then came back.
But i also read that if it's a yeast infection then i should feel itchy all the time.
So, is that a yeast infection or what? and what is the solution??

Try taking probiotics and inserting one at night, into you vagina. Also google hydrogen peroxide and water douches... Good luck!!
