Yellowish discharge after Monistat 1?!

Ive been with this guy for awhile now, who has been tested and is clean, and so am I. Just the other morning, after sleeping with him I had a white, curdy discharge, and a itching, swollen vagina. I had a yeast infection a few times before, and thought that is what it was, so I used Monistat 1 last night. This morning I woke up, and my symptoms are barelllyyyy there. I only have a very mild itch every now and then. However, I have excessive amounts of a light yellow-ish green discharge, with no odor! I know that that kind of discharge is usually signs of infection, but could it be due to the Monistat 1 ovule? I just don't know, because I didn't have this kind of discharge yesterday, when my symptoms were bad, and now that they are better, I have this discharge! Help! I am soooo confused!

Hi there,  This is an old post, it may be helpful to get more responses by posting your own question.

You could have something called Gardnarella which often accompanies yeast infections.  It would smell slightly fishy.  Gardnarella is bacterial in nature and your doctor would prescribe medication to get rid of it.  It is not at all uncommon and again, is often present with yeast infections.

One of the things they always say with gardnarella is to wipe front to back.

good luck, see your doctor!

I used monostat 1 and the itching went away but I didn't have an odor before using the monostat and now I do. What's going on?

When I first decided that I had a yeast infection, my vagina was irritated and itching and I had the cottage cheese type discharge. I took Monistat 1 about 3 days ago and my vagina is still irritated and I'm having A LOT more discharge then I had before it doesn't really itch anymore, but I'm worried that it's not working! HELP!

Back again and it has only been 1 hour! Go figure.

The discharge has now become extremely light and is just yellow. No itching, no burning. The Monistat 1 has worked well for me. Just give it sometime. If it doesn't lighten within two days, seek medical attention.
Make sure to avoid heat, and sugar! Sugar is infamous in making yeast infections worse. I'm a prime example of that fact. I wasn't having any issues with yeast infections, especially since I stopped my sweet tea infatuation. (I used to drink at least 8 glasses a day, easy.) I drank three glasses in one day after two weeks of cold turkey and the yeast infection manifested itself in.

Hope I eased someone's worries at least a little.

I am having the same issue. It has only been one night since I used the Monistat 1, so i am going to see how it fares throughout the day.
I took it in the evening around 9pm, and felt immense burning and itching for only about 25 minutes. After the pain, the itching and burning discontinued fairly quick and the discharge was at first, white and yellow. Obviously the infection and monistat 1 coming out, but over time it turned yellow-green. I am concerned, but it still is the yellow-green the next morning! I read a website where it said it could take up to a day and a half before the discharge stops.
I'll repost once the discharge discontinues or if any other changes occur.

Hi, I’m having the same problem right now. Did your greenish discharge ever stop? How did it go? Did you end up going to the doctor? I didn’t have the yellow green discharge before Monistat 1 but today is a second day and my discharge is that color. I’m so stressed out:(

I thought I had a yeast infection, so I went to the store and bought monistat 1 and went to sleep after inserting it with no issues. I went to sleep with no sideaffects. when i woke up, there was this very very faint itching. I went to the bathroom and also had a lot of yellow discharge..I didn't smell it...but i had yellow discharge before i tried monistat, so....anyways...I also had this white stuff.. my mom said to call her so i did, and i told her everything and she said that the white stuff is just some of the medicine leaking out of your body. she said your body isn't creating it. also, she said if it's still itching, take some of the medicine that leaks out and rub it around, which should help the itching.

hope this helps!

I was dealing with a yeast infection so i decided to go to the store and purchase monistat 7. Thats what usually gets the job done. But I wanted the job to get done quickly so I decided to use Monistat 1 for the first time. The next day the itching and irritation went away,  but not fully. By the third day I started experiencing yellow discharge with no smell. What in the world does this mean? Before I didnt have this when using monistat 1.
