could I be pregnant?

Hey everyone, I had a question I have been wondering about. I was raped a couple weeks ago and I am only 19. I didn't even think of pregnancy as a possible outcome until I talked to my mom about it but now that I've been watching myself, I have a lot of the symptoms- constipation, nausea, fatigue, tender chest, bloating, headaches, and moodiness. My period is very irregular and always has been so there's no way to really tell a normal length of time between each cycle but I feel kind of weird. I mean like I look at babies and kids and feel all fluttery and things like that. Ive been told both ways- that it could be and that its psychosematic because of what happened but its it possible that it could be? My mom says it takes a lot longer for the hormone to show up on your first tests if you've never had a baby. And, if so, does anyone have any suggestions of what to do? If I am, I know I don't want to have an abortion and I couldn't do adoption so I would have to parent it- can it be done at 19? Thanks

I did go to the hospital the morning after - but he's saying it was consentual so they said they can't really use much of the physical evidence

Yeah I was in the process of doing that but if I turned out being pregnant, it would make things considerably more complicated because then he would have a claim to the child wouldn't he?

your welcome! and make sure you get counseling and i would say try and press charges against that man, but if you didnt go to the hospital right away so they could take a sample....its pretty hard to confirm

Thanks! That helps. I figured I would just get a few of the regular pregnancy tests before I did the blood one in case they are all negative but its good to know that I will probably know pretty soon here. Thanks for telling me straight up- I saw your journal post and I agree- I would rather someone tell me the facts than to just tell me what I want to hear.

And thanks for the encouragement. It helps to know that it can be done.

it doesnt take a lot longer for the hormone to shot up if its your first baby. it can show up right away. figure out when was your last period in relationship to the rape. you maybe late because of the stress associated with it. since you mom "knows" so much about pregnnacy she should have requested you to get a blood tests. that would tell you for sure.

your 19 your and adult and its been done with girls a LOT less than you
