cramps without period

I am experiencing period like cramps for the past few days and i am not due to have my period untill next week (11th jan) my last period finished on the 19th dec.  I was on 5 day course of antibiotics which ended on the 20th dec.  I am on the pill.  I had unprotected sex on the 26 and 28 of dec. I am aware that antibiotics affect the pill and that extra protection must be made for 7 days after stoping antibiotics but i had sex 6 days afterwards and i wasnt protected my a condom.  I have looked at other websites that tell me that period like cramps are an early sign of pregnancy and i am quite worried as i have never experienced period like cramps without a period before.  I doubt my period will come (if it does) untill i am due next week because my periods are always regular.  I do not have anyother symptoms.  I really need someones help as i have tried other forums with no luck and i would be very very greatful if someone could help me and let me know if this cramping is normal or if i could be pregnant.  Please some one help me as i am quite worried

yep ,.even i am in the same condition as urs, waiting for my periods  and experiencing cramps.It would be helpful for me also if anybody gives suggestions.I am in my 5 th day after the due date of my periods....Help me also

Well I am about 13 weeks pregnant now and that is how it all started for me.  I had experienced cramping but since I don't keep up with my periods I just thought that it was due any moment.  The cramps continued for a long while so i decided to take a home pregnancy test.  My test came out positive and it was on from there.  So I would suggest to both of yall to get a home pregnancy test to see, and if that does.doesn't work go to the doctor for confirmation.  I don't know how birth control worksd though b/c i've never been on it.  Hope this helps some.  Good luck!!!!

I don't know what day you ovulate, but some women experience minor cramping, etc. when they ovulate.  However, I don't think those cramps would last for several days.  
**For meens--you should take a HPT.  If you are 5 days late, you should test, b/c it would be accurate since your period is already late.  

Maxjen, I guess best case scenario is just wait until your period is late...or there are a few tests you can take a couple of days before your period is due and they will be accurate.

I am not sure when i ovulate, i dont usually get cramps when i ovulate only when i have my period.  I have searched all over the internet and the only conclusions are that i may be experiencing the first signes of pregnancy or i have cysts on my ovaries.  I am due my period on wednesday, if i do not get my period by the the friday then i will assume that i am defently pregnant because i am always regular and if i do get my period then i will wait untill next month to see if i have cramping again and if i do i will then go to the doctors to see about the cyst.  I really hope that i am just freaking out because i dont want to be pregnant or have any cysts. thanks for the comments and i hope people with similar experiences will keep posting...has anyone experienced cramps then ended up getting their period?

When I ws pregnant with my first son, I went to the doctor, thinking something was wrong with me....lol........telling her I was having period cramps for like a week or week and a half, but no period, she laughed and said I was pregnant, sent me to get a blood test, and I was pregnant, its your uterus growing...very common...but im not saying your pregnant, could be something else...but sounds like you could be.

I usually get cramps just before i am about to get my period. The second time i got pregnant i thought the cramps were the regular cramps i get before my period, i found out that they were because i was pregnant.  At this point in time there is no way to tell, you'll just have to wait until the right time to know for sure, either by a blood test, home pregnancy test, or a ultrasound.  i hope everyhing works out.

I have been experiencing cramps for the past week or two... and My periods usually come on time, like it used to be on the 16th, and for months it was like that, then I guess due to extra weeks in some months, it started to come on the 8th for two months, except for this past august.  I was stressing over some relationship problems with my fiancee, and my period came early on the 5th instead of the 8th.  So does that mean this month it should come on the 5th.

Well, I waited till the fifth and it hasn't came.  Then, I figured it'll come on the eighth, and it still hasn't came.  And now I'm debating if I should wait till the 16th, but it's technically already been well over a week and half late from my "due date".

What should I do, should I just take the test, becaue I hate playing the waiting game....

i've been experiencing major cramps but i'm not on my period. i saw a Doctor about 3 weeks ago and he saw nothing wrong but i was also off my pill for a couple weeks some websites say this is a sign of early pregnancy. I just need answers before i go crazy because nobody seems to have the answer

ive had cramps for about a week and a half or 2 weeks now but still not on my period , i usually have the worst cramps at night , i didnt have my period in july at all and then had it in august and not had it here in september, i get cramps usually 2 days before my period and then have it ... why havent i had it? ive tooken a pg test and it said negative but can different HPT not read your hormones or whatever? ive been dizzy and have fainted before , i went to the doctors and they said it can just be my blood sugar levels... could that be the reason for my cramping also?

I am having a similar experiance to the 1st and 2nd posts.  I was on a 5 day antibiotic a week before my period was supposed to start...and almost immediately, I started my period a week early and it lasted through the early period AND an extra week for when I would have been on my period in the first place.  I am on the pill and after the second week when my period was done, I started a new month of birth control (I've been on ortho tri-cyclin for years).  I am just now starting my second week of this month's cycle of pills and I have been CRAMPING since day 3.  I have had a lot of unprotected sex with my husband during the entire time, and I REALLY don't think I am pregnant, I just want to know why I am cramping so bad when I'm not even close to my period again.  Some of them are REALLY sharp stabbing pain cramps too like pinpoint stabbing pain and then it throbbs, etc.

i also had cramping while on ortho tri cyclin and i was switched to triaphasil and have had no problems.Ortho tends to be too high for some women

I was suppose to start my period last sun the 23rd, but it hasn't came... well Im also on birth control and has been over a month... n I had unprotected sex on that sat the 22nd... So I'm confused right cuz I feel like Im about to start and nothing is "flowing" yet....  ne help?

I've gone to the doctor for cramping without a period and u are ovulating for sure. It can be very painful at times. Take some ibprofen or asprin it will help.

I had my period on the 12th for about 5 days... ive been cramping on and off since then... Iusually cramp before and on my period but never after.... could I be pregnant or am i just ovulating?

Did you know that antibiotics mess with birth control pills?  Your doctor should've told you. If you're on the pill and take antibiotics you can get pregnant because the antibiotic kinda makes the pill less effective if at all ... so if i were you I'd take EPT.

Hey Girls.

I thought I'd let you know my story. I've been suffering from the same cramps as mentionned above for around two weeks now. Feeling as though I'm about to come on my period but with no signs whatsoever.
I've been further confused as last month i had to come off my pill (micrognon 30) as i had run out of pills and came on my period a couple of days later. However, I didn't note down this date and can't work it out for the life of me. I am pretty sure that my period is late, but my partner does not agree. I've searched across a couple of websites to find out when is the best time i should take my test as i don't know whether i am late and it states that i should wait 19 days after unprotected sex. Im not sure exactly of the dates when i had unprotected sex but i think i am a few days shy of 19. However, with the cramps and my belief that my period is late (i've also 'just had that feeling' you know, when you think you know) i have decided to take the test tonight.
If the test comes up negative, i'll wait another seven days or so before i take another (if i can wait that long).

I'll let you know the results. Keep well girls :)

So i took the test and it was negative. Still no sign of period but I'm going to stick to original plan and wait another week or so till i take another. Still getting the cramps, experiencing them right now actually lol.

Hi Ladies,
I went away for an anniversary get-a-way and a week and a half later I started feeling slightly nauseous. This feeling comes and goes mainly in the morning, a little in the afternoon and then quite a bit in the evening. I definitely don't have the flu because there is no fever, chills or other symptoms to go with it.
I've been pregnant three other times before so I'm getting slightly worried.
But here's where I'm confused...two things. 1) My husband had a vasectomy 5 and a half years ago. 2) I'm a week and a half from my period and I've been getting cramps.Unusual for me. This evening I had a cramp that made me feel a little nauseous and it scared me. I do get cramps around ovulation and this is not like those cramps.
Any ideas?

I have pain in the lower abdominal area.  Cramping.  It's constant, but every once in awhile it will hurt worse, like a spasm.  Which I have had for 6 days now.  Urine and bowel movements are normal.  It doesn't burn when I pee.  I've had some vaginal discharge, but it doesn't smell.  No fever.  No bloating. I'm constantly queasy, but no vomiting.  I'm not on birth control.  I had unprotected sex a 9 days ago.  The last day of my period was 16 days ago. So I have to wait another 15 days for my period to come.  I had my pee tested today, and it came up negative for infections.  I don't ever feel when I'm ovulating.  I will for sure let this forum know what my end results are, since no one seems to remember to let the rest of us know what happened with them. lol

I'm not pregnant. I had an infection that went into my kidneys causing the nausea and the early cramps.

Okay, so I am in the same boat as most people here.  My husband and I are trying to concieve and I quit taking birth control in November 2007.  I had a regular period in Nov and Dec, but now nothing.   The whole month of january no period and now I am going on day 39 (I usually start on day 32).  I have been cramping though, and I have taken 2 hpt and they were both negative.  I'm just glad to know that there are others like me :)  I saw my ob/gyn on 1/23 but that was prior to the cramping and late period and he said I should be fine to conceive.  BTW I saw on another board that someone had the same symptoms that I have stated above for 3 months and it wasn't until then that she had a positive HPT and she was 3 months pregnant.  Don't mean to scare anyone who is not TTC!
