endometriosis? need info fast!

Im 16 years old and have been having pain and lots of bleeding for some time now. I looked up endometriosis and thought that this may be an answer. But is it possible to have this even if you have never been sexually active? And is it always a surgical procedure that has to be done in order to help the situation...needles and such are not my best friend:( please help

I see now how I read it that way, the like wasn't capitalized after fat.  Now reading it again I see though what you were getting at.  I just would never want someone to think I said the word fat to anyone.  funny funny.

laura, i'm sorry to have offended you. again, please read carefully yourself! i WAS responding to the poster's concerns about getting "fat" on the pill. i'm not sure what you are reading, but when i said your name, i said "like laura said, it can be pretty difficult to figure things like this out." that is the only point at which i was referring to you. i was agreeing with your idea that finding out about these things can be difficult, as you said that they usually have to go in and look around. you might notice that there isn't anyone listed who i was replying to. i figured it was implied that i was replying to the poster.

please read my words carefully, i only referred to you in once instance, which was in agreement.

actually I never even stated anything about weight that was the POSTER that did.  Please read carefully before you include someones name in your comments.  I even read it again to make sure I didn't, and nope that wasn't me who said it, that was the poster raindomy that stated that she didn't want to get fat.

hey there, i have endometriosis, and i'm on birth control to control some of the symptoms. it helps me a great amount, and whatever side effects i've had have NOT outweighed the relief that it's given me. not every pill makes you "fat." every pill is different for every person. i've had pills that have caused a weight gain, but i wouldn't say they made me "Fat." like laura said, it can be pretty difficult to figure things like this out. make a list of all your symptoms, and give your doctor a call. endometriosis is not related to being sexually active.

They won't be able to tell you if you for sure have endometriosis unless they stick a needle in your stomach to do some looking around.  Ususally what docs do these days is put you on birthcontrol pill and hope that works.  I hope that you find out what is going on with you.
here is some stuff that helped me.
hot water bottle or heating pad
hot bath
advil or aleve or midol
here is another thing that many docs have to me.  stay away from sugar and caf. they can make it worse for you.

I usually have pain for hours non stop and im guessing your clots were big. My clots are usually the size of a quarter. My bleeding has not got that bad. It is just the pain that gets to me. I am going to go to the doctor but i want to get some opinions first so i have some questions to ask the doctor and hot just  go in there clueless. I also dont want to get treated for thousands of things and not have any of them to begin with.

Here is something for you to think about.  I had the worst periods a cramps of any of the girls I went to high school with.  That was 11 years ago by the way.  I had bad clots all the time, and usually the first day of my period I had to stay home from school.  As it turned out my uterun lining was twice as thick as a normal person.  I didn't have endometriosis.  Finding out that you have that is kind-of difficult, usually the have to go in and look around.  You could just be another case like me.  When you get these really bad cramps that you get, do you then pass a clot?  If that is the case that cramp is your cervix dialating to le the clot pass.  You could just have a thick lining as I did.  I hope that you can take the birthcontrol pill, I couldn't.  That would be one of your easiest options to help your bleeding.  My periods were so heavy that on the first two days I was changing super plus tampons every hour.

The pain usually increases when i first start my cycle. I even had to go to the hospital. At first they gave me some medication because they thought I had PID. After taking the meds for 2 weeks i felt fine but when i got my period again the symptoms came back.
This birth control pill thing sounds pretty convincing but do they make you fat??I know that a stupid question...but i dont wanna get a belly...im 86 pounds

Endo is something you can have without having sex.  It just means the uterine lining is growing outside of the uterus.  Do your symptoms increase at the end of your cycle?  Surgery is one possiblity, but it can be treated with birth control pills.  This regulates your cycle and keeps the pain to a minimum.  There are even pills not that can limit how many periods you have, so you don't have to go through it every month.  You should talk to your mom and then go to the doctor.

go to your doctor as soon as possible. Even though you have not have had sex yet go make an appointment to see a gyno doctor because there might be somthing really wrong with you. They ussally will not do surgery on you when you are this age.  The doctor might just even put you on the pill to regulate your period and to take some pain away .
